I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) with over 8 years experience working with individuals with a wide variety of issues and concerns. My scope of demographic practice ranges from adolescents to adults. I have experience treating issues such as relationship (divorce, separation, breakups, dating), self-esteem, life transition, school and behavioral, LGBTQ, health and wellness goal setting and treatment of anxiety and depression. Whether you experience a life altering event or an issue for which you just need someone to listen, I will be with you to guide you in meeting your goals.
Furthermore, in my experience there is no one-size-fits-all counseling approach. As a clinician, I approach each client as an individual with unique needs and desires. My strengths lie in my ability to develop, maintain and cultivate positive and non-judgmental relationships, while gently challenging my clients to make the desired changes in their life. Since each individual is unique, there are many ways in which we can work together to achieve the goal(s) set when we start the counseling process.
That stated, my approach to counseling is holistic. I am a strong advocate for the mind/body connection. I am a practitioner of meditation and daily mindfulness as a means of managing my own stress and anxiety. And, while there is no quick fix for the myriad issues many of us face in the rapidly changing and high paced society in which we live, I truly believe through therapy, healthy living, and mindfulness we as individuals can find balance no matter what challenges life throws at us.
Personally, I grew up in Oak Park and am a lifelong resident of the Chicagoland area. I am a musician, athlete, avid Chicago sports fan, history and psychology buff and overall insatiable consumer of knowledge. Like most individuals, I experience the up and down rigors of everyday life. However, through hard work and mindfulness, I have arrived at a place in which I am able to help others achieve the same level of contentment I currently experience.
