Introducing Chicago Center for Psychotherapy's New Interns:
Hannah Samaha and Quinn Pennington

CCP is thrilled to welcome two talented new interns,
Hannah Samaha and Quinn Pennington, to our clinical team!

Hannah and Quinn are both currently clinical graduate students at the University of Chicago’s School of Social Work, Policy, and Practice.

Only in their second week with CCP, they’ve already begun contributing fresh perspectives and vital enthusiasm to our practice!

As they embark on their journey with us, we’re excited to give them the opportunity to introduce themselves in their own words:

Quinn Pennington (they/them)

Hello!

I’m Quinn, a psychotherapy intern here at CCP and a second-year social work student at the University of Chicago. I am forever curious about how to live well—in body, heart, mind, spirit, and story.

I see the therapy room as a place to experiment. That might mean trying out a new perspective and taking it for a road test. It could also mean making space to safely feel things a person has been holding at bay and responding to that hurt in a new way. Therapy can also be a space to try a different way of communicating with and relating to someone else.

Whatever it means in a given moment, I want working with me to feel like we can sit down in the sand together, roll up our sleeves, and get creative.

I see hurting and growing as normal parts of being alive, not illnesses. I believe in honoring the strengths and skills folk pick up by surviving, regardless of what role they want those skills to have in their lives going forward. I lead with curiosity, non-judgement, and warmth.

If you’d like to learn more about me or to reach out, please check out my bio.

Best,
Quinn

Hannah Samaha (she/her)

Hello!

I’m Hannah and I am a psychotherapy intern at CCP and a second-year clinical social work student at the University of Chicago. I view healing and self-growth as something without an end point. It is a lifelong journey filled with ups and downs, and I would love to be a supportive part of yours!

I have always been fascinated by the human mind and its power, and this fascination has led to a life-long exploration of how that power can be used for healing and growth. I believe the therapy space should be one that encourages curiosity over judgment, and welcomes all thoughts and feelings are so that you are able to show up exactly as you are—and I will meet you there!

Therapy is not one-size-fits-all, and with that comes the joy of being able to experiment and explore. I’m here to help individuals and couples in a way that recognizes and honors your human differences and individuality. By working together, we can create a space that best suits you and your needs.

If you’d like to learn more about me or CCP, please check out my bio, and feel free to reach out. I look forward to meeting you!

All the best,
Hannah
